Luton’s draw with Leicester saw The Hatters field new Fulham loan forward Bjorn Runstrom and the Swede put in a useful showing even if he perhaps should have found the net with a guilt-edged chance just after the half-hour mark when he volleyed over from six yards.

Luton boss Newell said: “I wouldn’t say he was at the centre of everything. He’s got more to come. He had two very good chances in the first-half, but he hit them too well if you can do that.

“The volley he hit over the bar he struck that very well and the left footer he hit equally as well, but you find if you don’t hit them so well they go in.

“He’s only been with us for two days and when you come to a club where you don’t know anyone and when you go straight into a side that hasn’t been playing particularly well and is struggling to get results it can be difficult.

“But he’s shown a great attitude. He never looked at the league table when I asked him to come here, he just wanted to come and play football.”
