Luis Boa Morte is expected to wrap up his £5million switch to West Ham later on Friday with Matthew Etherington joining Fulham.

The Cottagers’ captain was believed to be at Upton Park on Thursday undergoing a medical with Alan Curbishley’s side after a deal between the sides was struck according to widespread reports in the English media.

Fulham have been loath to lose Boa Morte in the past having rejected offers from Newcastle United for his services back in the summer of 2005.

However, manager Chris Coleman has deemed the former Southampton and Arsenal man expendable following an injury-hit campaign.

The Welsh tactician has offset the loss of the left-sided man after reportedly securing former Spurs and Peterborough winger Etherington.

The 25-year-old has been a regular for The Hammers this term, but has been allowed to leave in order to move Boa Morte across London.
