Michael Brown is loving life as Fulham’s stand- in skipper — and wants to repay boss Chris Coleman by getting more goals.

Coleman has handed Brown the armband while defender Zat Knight is out with a broken jaw. The midfielder, 30, will lead his side out at Charlton tomorrow.

Brown said: “I don’t know how long I will be captain, but I’m enjoying it. Everybody knows what you get from me — 100 per cent all the time. Hard tackling comes with that, trying to close down and shut the other team down. Maybe I can add a bit more to my game and try and get a couple of goals.”
