Fulham Manager Chris Coleman will not take action against Michael Brown for his two-footed tackle on Sean Davis in last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Portsmouth.

The Fulham boss has not apologised on his player’s behalf for the challenge, which earned Brown a straight red card.

Instead he blasted ex-Fulham midfielder Davis for criticising Brown.

Coleman said: “Michael got the tackle wrong, he admits that and deserved to be sent off. I would not complain about that.

“He is a physical player who I brought here to add more bite in midfield.

“I cannot go around telling my players to stop tackling.

“Sean then came out and made a few comments — which didn’t help.

“But Michael still insists he does not have a problem with him and admits he made a mistake.”
