Chris Coleman is exploring the possibility of strengthening his midfield options after the departure of Sean Davis left Fulham with only three fit central midfielders.

Davis ended an eight-year spell at Craven Cottage to join Tottenham last week and an injury to Junichi Inamoto over the summers means the Fulham boss can only call upon Sylvain Legwinski, Mark Pembridge and Lee Clark at the moment. Coleman told Sky Sports he was working hard to try and resolve the situation:

“It’s disappointing to lose Sean and I feel he strung us along a bit. We’ve lost Inamoto as well and even though we do still want to sign him he is going to be out until October.

We also wanted [Martin] Djetou but he is having legal problems with Parma so I can’t really take a chance on him. I have got money to spend and my priority is to bring in two midfielders before the start of the campaign. Hopefully, we’ll get at least one in very soon.
