Fulham have reignited their interest in signing the Inter Milan centre forward Hakan Sukur, according to reports from Italy.
Jean Tigana, who is still searching for a striker to complete his summer spending spree, has made an enquiry with the Serie A side about whether the Turkish international is available for transfer. Inter splashed news of the talks over the 29 year-old’s future on the front page of their official website and Fulham have insisted that they will only be prepared to do a deal with Inter that recognises the importance of London’s oldest professional football club.
A decision about how much Inter value Sukur add seems some way off but Fulham have been encouraged to consider him among the top tier after Tigana failed in his attempts to sign Freddie Kanoute, Jan Koller or Oliver Bierhoff. Sukur had said he was content to remain at the Giuseppe Meazza but Inter’s continued strengthening in the attacking areas means he may now consider what he had once described as ‘a dream’ move to England.
