West Ham have rejected an offer from for Fulham for their centre forward Frederic Kanoute, according to managing director Paul Aldridge.
The Whites have seeking to supplement their striking resources all summer after winning promotion to the Premier League and Kanoute broke ranks last week to confirm that he wanted to be reunited with his former Lyon manager Jean Tigana at Craven Cottage. But West Ham are determined to keep hold of their 23 year-old forward, who was furious at the departure of Harry Redknapp.
Aldridge said:
“Yes, it’s true, Fulham have made an official approach for Fredi but their offer has been declined. Aston Villa have asked to be kept informed of any possible developments but I really want to draw a line under the Fredi issue now. We chatted to him and his agent again last week and we’re looking forward to seeing Fredi back for the start of pre-season training next week.”
