Fulham are preparing a second offer for Jordan Ayew after having their first bid rejected by Swansea, according to a Daily Mail report this evening.

Swansea turned down Fulham’s initial approach, reported to be around £8m, and the Mail suggests that the Welsh side will entertain offers in the region of £13m for the Ghana international. The 26 year-old forward is widely expected to leave the Liberty Stadium after relegation but Swansea are determined to hold out for the best possible offer for Ayew, who topped the club’s goalscoring charts with eleven goals last season.

Fulham are on the hunt for reinforcements across all areas of their squad as they prepare for their first Premier League season in four years and, with uncertainty over whether the Whites will be able to reach a deal with Newcastle for the permanent transfer of Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, Slavisa Jokanovic will want further options in the final third. Ayew’s versatility – which means he could fill any one of the front three positions in Jokanovic’s fluid 4-3-3 system – might well be a major plus point.
