Aboubakar Kamara hopes he can continue his recent rich vein of form for Fulham when they travel to the Riverside Stadium to take on Middlesbrough tomorrow afternoon.
The French striker has scored four goals in his last two league appearances for the Whites and is likely to return to Slavisa Jokanovic’s starting line-up in the north east having been rested for last weekend’s FA Cup tie against Southampton. The 22 year-old told FulhamFCTV that was raring to go and wants to help the club continue their impressive recent run in the league:
I’m keen to play. I’m eager to score goals and also I want to win with the team and to try and climb the table. I think today is the moment important thing for us. We will see what happens but we are ready to play this game and try to win it.
You shouldn’t really look at the table straight away. If you win, you climb and, if you don’t, you stay where you are. That’s the way it is. We have to win games and then we can look at the table.
The former Amiens forward says he is enjoying the hustle and bustle of training at Motspur Park and feels that the hard work the players do during the week has been paying dividends in Fulham’s recent matches.
It was okay. It was fine. We worked hard and we will carry on doing this right to the end I hope. It was fine and we need to continue in this dynamic.
Kamara has good memories of playing tomorrow’s opponents having scored his first goal for Fulham against Boro at Craven Cottage back in September. He is unworried by the prospect of a more physical encounter after the hosts replaced former manager Garry Monk with Tony Pulis.
I’d forgotten it was my first goal against Middlesbrough but it’s good that you reminded me. We will just have to see but we will carry on. Whether it’s physical or not doesn’t bother me. It’s a football match and we will see who comes out on top.
