SC Braga have rejected Fulham’s €7m bid for their striker Rui Fonte and want any suitors to match their €10m valuation, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

Fonte, the younger brother of West Ham centre back Jose, has been high on Fulham’s striking shortlist during the course of the summer and has commanded interest from across Europe after scoring fifteen goals for Braga last season. The 27 year-old is rumoured to be keen on returning to London, having enjoyed spells with both Arsenal and Crystal Palace earlier in his career.

Slavisa Jokanovic has made it plain that he wants further forward resources to arrive at Craven Cottage before the end of the transfer window – despite French striker Aboubakar Kamara joining from Amiens last week for a fee that could rise to £5m. It remains to be seen whether Fulham will return with an improved offer for Fonte or turn their attention to other targets.
