Lucas Piazon will return to Fulham after agreeing a second successive loan spell at Craven Cottage from Chelsea, the club confirmed this afternoon.

The Brazilian forward was a firm favourites with the fans after impressing during his initial six-month spell with the Cottagers last season. Piazon played a vital role in Slavisa Jokanovic’s side – having originally had to work hard to get into the starting eleven – and scored on his debut against Bristol City in the EFL Cup, illustrating a handy knack of scoring crucial goals.

The 23 year-old scored six goals, with four assists, in 33 appearances for the Whites last season as Fulham put together an outstanding run of results in the second half of the season to reach the Championship play-offs. Piazon even shrugged off a fractured jaw to make an earlier than expected return during the regular season run-in. He told the club’s official website:

It felt like I must come back and help the team to reach what we were chasing last year, so it will be a very exciting season.
