Fulham’s Australian international striker Adam Taggart has joined Scottish Premiership side Dundee United on loan until January.

The 22 year-old has struggled to make an impact at Craven Cottage having seen his Fulham career cruelly interrupted by injuries following his arrival from Newcastle Jets last summer. Taggart, who represented his country at the World Cup in Brazil and boasted a fine scoring record in Australian domestic football, has yet to play a senior first-team game for Fulham and even his opportunities at under-21 level were severely curtailed by injury.

Taggart had insisted earlier in the summer that he wanted to stay and fight for a place in the Fulham first team but has been convinced to join Jackie McNamara’s side on loan. A direct replacement for Patrick Muirhead, who joined Partick Thistle on loan earlier today, Taggart could make his United debut against Kilmarnock on September 12th.
