Here’s another Fulham-Tottenham transfer link.

According to reports in the Dutch press, Martin Jol is investigating whether he can be reunited with Jermain Defoe. The England striker was not a regular in the Tottenham team towards the end of last season and, with Harry Redknapp keen to add to his attacking options this summer, Defoe’s worried that a lack of first-team football will cost him a place in Fabio Capello’s plans in the run-up to the Euro 2012 finals.

Defoe has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs this summer. Newcastle and Sunderland are known to be interested in the 28 year-old, but Defoe is reportedly not keen on relocating to the north east. Today’s People reckons that should Defoe not be picked in Spurs’ early-season line-ups that he will ask to go out on loan. The Dutch website Soccer News says that Defoe’s potential suitors would have to pay around £14.8m to secure a permanent transfer. Would Mohamed Al Fayed sanction such a significant financial outlay?
