This very thinly-sourced – and probably hopelessly unreliable – account links Fulham with a £6m move for Tottenham midfileder Niko Kranjcar.

The Croatian international was barely used by Harry Redknapp last season and is set to leave White Hart Lane this summer. Spurs turned down a bid from Werder Bremen back in January and Kranjcar has been linked with moves to a number of big-name clubs across Europe. Serie A side Roma have ruled out a move for the 26-year-old, who has also been tracked by Wolfsburg, Newcastle and newly-promoted QPR.

Jol is apparently considering tabling a £6m offer for Kranjcar and aiming to persuade him to stay in London. It might sound a little far-fetched, but then Fulham were linked with him prior to Mark Hughes’ resignation.
