Greening speaks up for agents

by Dan on December 1, 2009

Here’s an indication of what’s wrong with modern football. Years ago, players did without agents – the middlemen are a decidely new invention and, they frequently decide transfers. According to Roy Hodgson, Greening’s agent wasn’t all that helpful in arranging the loan during the summer. Zoltan Gera’s agent has been charged by the FA for his part in the Hungarian’s transfer from West Brom in 2008. I’d love to get rid of them – and save all that money going out of the game – but most of these kind of changes are incremental and incredibly slow. It’s a big step for the clubs to publish how they spend on agents.
